BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Words from the founder

Rudy Ramos-

From my struggles as a child. I have found growing up that music became incredibly beneficial for my mental health. Through my struggles as a child, it helped verbalize my feelings.

Music provided a verbal and non-verbal outlet for expressing emotions, whether through playing an instrument, singing, or simply listening.  It helped me identify and regulate my emotions, I learning to manage my feelings like anger, sadness, or anxiety.

As a father of 5, Music was and still is my therapy I use to help myself. I believe “Children who have experienced trauma, it provides a safe and supportive environment for them to process their experiences.

This is why I have formed the Somar Youth Project
